Fiber+Blood’s Story

April revived her love for textiles after her son was diagnosed with type one diabetes at just 2 years old. While obsessively checking his blood sugar, she obsessively knotted - using macrame to cope with the stress of being mother and 24/7 caretaker to her son. She soon realized she had created Fiber+Blood and passionately continued to knot to not only balance the stress but to spread awareness about the impacts and severity of type one diabetes. Supporting April’s craft allows her to provide the constant care her son Ocean requires and bring diabetes awareness and education to the macrame lovers of the world and beyond.
