The Pearl  is a magnificent, statement piece: a Macraweave Landscape that hangs approximately 41 inches (from edge to edge of driftwood) x 26inches (from driftwood down to tip of longest tassel)

Named after the hauntingly beautiful song from Emmylou Harris’s Red Dirt Girl album with the same name

The process to create a macraweave like this is long - you will see this reflected in the price compared to a more simple macrame wall hanging - even if they appear to be a similar size.

First a skeleton of the landscape is created. This is the macrame portion of the piece - the outline of the moon - the stars - the rolling hills…I find this to be an important and time consuming step as it sets the mood of the whole piece.

The chunky tassels then take shape. Made with high quality super soft cotton - they will become a highlight of the masterpiece. They get their first brush and an approximate trim but will continue to be finessed to full fluffiness many times before the piece is complete.

Then I get to start weaving! I wove a blanket of white to be the background of the mountain and then used many different types of fibers above the tassels to represent the ground floor of the forest. This forest has just had a fresh coat of fluffy snow! ❄️ 😍

And here comes the trees!!! So. Many. Trees! I knew I wanted to make a winter forest in snow- to create dimension I used many different materials with different textures and shades of white. Each tree was made by hand and then carefully attached to the mountain.

Finally the moon gets her turn! Using multiple types of metallic gold cord, I created the full moon of your dreams and then topped her off with brass details!

As you can see macraweaves are truly a labor of love but the result is so epic and so worth it! Truly a statement piece you or your loved one will treasure forever!
